Awarding Ceremony of Advanced Certificate Courses -2019/2020

The courses on Fundamentals of Criminal Law, International Criminal Law, and Environmental Law was conducted by the Department of Public and International Law, Faculty of Law, University of Colombo in the year 2019. The course on the Fundamentals of Criminal Law was Coordinated by Prof.Jeeva Niriella, the International Criminal Law was by Prof.V.T.Thamilmaran, and the Environmental Law and Policy was by Dr. Kokila Konasinghe.

Due to the failure of much efforts to organise an Awarding Ceremony physically, the Department of Public and International Law successfully held the Awarding Ceremony of Advanced Certificate Courses on Fundamentals of Criminal Law, International Criminal Law, and Environmental Law and Policy on the 22nd of April 2021 via online. Professor Indira Nanayakkara, the Dean, Faculty of Law along with Prof.Wasantha Seneviratne, the Head of the Department of Public and International Law of the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo, headed the Awarding Ceremony. Among all three courses Dr V.A.T.D.Perera received a Distinction pass in Fundamentals of Criminal Law, while others were honoured with merit and distinction passes. The Department’s successful completion of Advanced Certificate courses couraged it further to level up the courses into diploma level, and as an initiation, Prof.Wasantha Seneviratne launched the flyer and the advertisement of call for application for Diploma on respective courses at the awarding ceremony.

This Ceremony was Coordinated by Ms. S. Puwanitha, lecturer (Probationary) attached to the Department of Public and International Law of the Faculty of Law.
