Consumer Rights Day 2017
The Department of Commercial Law, Faculty of Law organized a series of events to mark the consumer rights day on the 28th March 2017. The programme for the day was centred around the theme ‘Consumer Rights and Sri Lanka’. The department organized poster, cartoons and short video competitions based on the theme of consumer protection in contemporary society among the students of the Faculty of Law. The main event consisted of cultural events, documentary video, expert presentation and panel discussion and the panellists are Mrs. Chandrika Thilakarathne, Director – Consumer Affairs & Information , Consumer Affairs Authority, Mr. Ranjith Vithanage, Chairman, National Consumer Rights Movement in Sri Lanka, Dr. Shanthi Segarajasingham, Head – Department of Commercial Law and Dr. Prathiba Mahanamahewa.
