Volunteering invitation to the Faculty of Law alumni
The Legal Aid Unit必利勁
(LAU) of the Faculty of Law of Colombo University invites Law Faculty alumni to the become a volunteering lawyer at the LAU.
Those who are able to commit at least one hour per month to provide onsite or telephone legal advice are invited to complete an online form: https://forms.gle/
The LAU provides legal aid to the public through the Clinical Legal Education (CLE) program, and this means the law undergraduates learn practical aspects of their job by observing the advice session conducted by a volunteering lawyer.
The cases will be screened and triaged before scheduling the advice sessions by the LAU admin officer, so we can match the expertise and the interest of the volunteering lawyers with the type of cases; i.e. civil, criminal, labour, etc.
