The Faculty of Law opens its brand new auditorium
On the 2nd of January, 2024, the Faculty of Law of the University of Colombo had its opening ceremony for its state-of-the-art 500 seater auditorium. The occasion was graced by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo, Senior Prof. (Chair) H. D. Karunaratne, the Rector of the Sri Palee Campus, Dr. Pathiba Mahanamahewa, the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Sampath Punchihewa as well as academic and administrative staff of the faculty and university along with students.
The lack of an auditorium was a long-felt need of the Faculty of Law that was fulfilled on this memorable day. This was fulfilled thanks to the incredibly generous support of the University of Colombo.
It was a morning of great appreciation as the dignitaries applauded the efforts of the Dean and the Faculty as a whole in its achievement and many well wishes and encouragement were provided for the faculty’s continued future development in all arenas including, research, teaching and infrastructure.
With the celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of the Faculty of Law having taken place the year previously where an array of events were organized, this was a crowning moment in which the Faculty depicted its ever-growing and progressive nature.
