Launch of Centre for Environmental Law and Policy, CELP

The launch of the Centre for Environmental Law and Policy (CELP) of the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo,
Sri Lanka, under the theme “Beyond Human Environment: Defending Rights of Nature in the Anthropocene”. The Centre is the pioneer institution within the Sri Lankan University system that specialises in Environmental Law related research, policymaking, and advocacy.

The event is scheduled to be held on the 5th of January 2022, from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., with the participation of prominent legal luminaries, research scholars, diplomats, and policymakers from the international and national environmental arena, at the New Arts Theatre (NAT) of the University of Colombo. The launch will be marked by an expert panel discussion which will focus on “Environmental conservation and sustainable development at the domestic and international levels.”
